About Me:
As a lecturer in Economics and then a practicing Economist, I joined the ABSA Group in 1984. ABSA Group is one of the biggest Banking and Financial Services Groups in Africa.
For the last 20 years, I hold several senior management and specialist positions – from Small Business Manager, Marketing and Sales manager, and Regional General Manager. My last position in the Commercial Bank was Commercial Manager before I joined the ABSA Private Bank in 2000 as a Private Banker.
I am pleased to say that I achieved one of my personal goals when I left the corporate world after 25 years!! I was for 22 years a Senior Manager and Private Banker at the biggest Financial Services Group in Africa, ABSA Bank.
I joined The Wealth Corporation a very professional Financial Planning practice.
From March 2007, I was appointed Regional Manager for Diagonal Insurance Solutions, one of the largest independent Short term Insurance Brokers in South-Africa. At the moment I am also part time involved in IPS.
Because of my need to do my own thing and become more independent, I started Investment Psychology Solutions (Pty) Ltd - IPS a small services company that specialized in the determining and identifying the Money Personality Profiles of people.
I have just resigned as the Regional Manager and is in the process to find a new life and career. Only time will tell.
My wife, Felicity is working as an accountant at our local church. Carina (25) our daughter has finished her Degree and advanced diploma in Nursing. She worked during 2005 in London as a health worker and did some caring. She is now a Nursing-Sister in the Durbanville Medi-Clinic. Our son Servaas Jnr (23) is studying Architecture - 6th year
